I’ve been in Papua New Guinea for work in the past few weeks. My camera was always hanging around my neck, which allowed me to ask questions about Ventilated Improved Pit toilets and then shoot some lovely pictures of the communities I was visiting. It was my first big trip with my new Olympus OMD E10 kit, and my first attempt to use only my new prime lenses. I learned a lot about getting the best shots I could get walking with only one prime on my camera while the others were back with the project car. I practiced planning for the types of shots I wanted to get and then preparing to just have that prime lens on the camera when we arrived. I enjoyed moving around more because of the prime lenses, instead of stalking with my old super telephoto lens 🙂 My next few blog posts will be curated from the 500 pictures that have made the cut (the number is actually less, as there are lots of pictures of toilets and tap stands!).
